About Us

The idea of BEBE CASHMERE was born in 2006 when I was pregnant with my baby and was expecting him in the chilly cold autumn. I was deeply worried about keeping my newborn tiny baby warm and comfortable at the same time. As a supporter of natural and organic fibres and an admirer of cashmere wool I had no better idea than dressing my baby in cashmere clothes. That winter we enjoyed every single cold day with our baby – Altai - because he was from head to toe wrapped in the most natural, softest, lightest and warmest wool – CASHMERE.  So, the only thing that was left for us was to share our love and pleasure of cashmere with other babies – and so that is how BEBE CASHMERE was born. 

Raisa Kader – founder and mother of Altai – is originally from Western Mongolia and is now based in Darmstadt, Germany. She was raised in Cairo, Egypt in a Diplomatic family - her father working as an ambassador and her mom as the representative of Mongolia’s leading cashmere company - GOBI. She received her BA degree in Political Science and International Relations from the American University in Cairo and later received her MA degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies at University of London.
